I have heard that peachicks can't be raised on the ground because of coccidiosis and I have had the experience of losing some because of this. My question is.. My peahens hatched out 5 chicks and they are being raised on the ground by the hen for 3 weeks now and seem to be doing great. Is it a matter of time before they get it or ?

It's been my experience that blackhead is more of a problem than coccidiosis when raising peachicks on the ground, especially if that ground has ever had chickens on it. There is a thread in the turkey forum that you might find helpful:

I'm not saying that coccidiosis isn't something to worry about, 'cause I have known of some peachicks *and* one adult that died from it.
