That seems to be the general consensus and something that I probably glossed right over while cooing over them.I would never breed AC for meat birds. They look gorgeous, but not really good to make useful and productive hybrids.
They are cool looking, I've always wanted the cold hardy counterpart Svart Honas, but I'm on my 3rd flock here, so now I'm looking into the Fibro EE/OE that play well with my Marans. That seems to be the general consensus and something that I probably glossed right over while cooing over them.
I had my eye on the fibro EE myself. Only decided against it 'cause they're 23 bucks per chickThey are cool looking, I've always wanted the cold hardy counterpart Svart Honas, but I'm on my 3rd flock here, so now I'm looking into the Fibro EE/OE that play well with my Marans.

Ayem Cemani are not good layer but the hens look like crows (crows are mortal enemies to hawks when they are in a group of 5 or more)I have not had hawks take anymore of my chickens. Maybe it’s just coincidence?Might be the best solution as they are aren't the best for either eggs or meat.
