Could someone please help me out with dosages of AmproMed I would like to mix it up 1 gallon at a time. I don't know if I am suppose to mix it at .006%, .012%, or .024%. I have 21 chickens and 2 heated water bowls (probably doesn't make any difference). I would appreciate any information as I would like to start my girls on this tomorrow as I noticed a few of them have runny poop.
Thank you in advance. Crazyfeathers

The dosage for Amprol 9.6% liquid at the 0.24% is 2 tsp per gallon of water,go with this dose. The other dose 0.12% is for moderate outbreak and the .006% is for maintenance/preventative.

I have powder form and if I figured it out correctly it's like 7/8 of a Tablespoon per 3 gallons of water (am I wrong?) Thank you for your help on this matter Ten Chicks.

Corid 20% powder is 1-1.5 tsp per gallon of water, use the 1.5 tsp. Treat ALL chickens for 5-7 days,do not give vitamins during treatment as they interfere with the ability of the coccidiostat to work. Give vitamins after treatment is complete.

Welcome.

The moderate outbreak dose (.012%) for Corid liquid is 1 teaspoon per US gallon.

The severe outbreak dose (.024%) for Corid Powder is 1.5 teaspoons (4.536 grams) per US gallon.
The severe outbreak dose (.024%) for Corid liquid is 2 teaspoon per US gallon.

FDA recommendations:
http://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/animaldrugsatfda/details.cfm?dn=013-149
"Chickens
Indications: For the treatment of coccidiosis.
Amount: Administer at the 0.012 percent level in drinking water as soon as coccidiosis is diagnosed and continue for 3 to 5 days (in severe outbreaks, give amprolium at the 0.024 percent level); continue with 0.006 percent amprolium-medicated water for an additional 1 to 2 weeks."

And this link has these instructions:
http://www.drugs.com/vet/amprol-9-6-solution-can.html
"Poultry - as Soon As Caecal Coccidiosis Is Diagnosed, Give 0.024% Amprolium In The Drinking Water For 5 To 7 Days. Continue The Treatment With 0.006% Amprolium Medicated Water For An Additional One To Two Weeks. No Other Source Of Drinking Water Should Be Available To The Birds During This Time."

Thank you so much Ten Chicks for the information. I hate conversions and I wanted to make sure I was giving the right dosages. This site is so great!
