Coccidosis, First Time, Got Questions

Any sulfur based meds will work. Albon is the most popular in house pets from the vet. Try jeffer's.com for a full line of water soluble meds for it.Worming meds or vaccines will do nothing for it, just sulfur based medications.
If the animal (chicken, dog, cat ...) has already gotten to the bloody stage in the poo department, unfortunately the mortality rate is very high as they have already severely damaged the digestive tract. Any animal that comes in contact with contaminated pop is susceptible to it. Older healthy animals with strong immune systems can usually fight it off and never be effected. That's why chick starters are medicated, and layer feeds arent. Chicks, puppies and kittens can get it from their caring parent that have no signs or problems from it. I know all this first hand from puppies that got it on a couple occasions yet the parents were perfectly fine???
First, you really need to get them on a good medicated starter and keep them on it for their first 6 - 12 months .
Hope all works out for you, it's a horrible , yet very frequent problem
