Hello! I have a black cochin bantam frizzle who is pretty adorable. Very noisy but hasn't let out a crow of any kind. He/ she is really flighty though and although 5.5 months now her/ his face was already this red at 3 months old. Worried that Ms frizzle is actually a mister.

Your cute chicken has me stumped! Full body looks like a pullet, but the tail feathers look like cockerel. Guess you will have to wait for a crow or egg! :he Keep us posted!
Thank you! I bought ms frizzle at the same time as my silkie - fufu. Unfortunately fufu is a roo so i'm taking him back to the farm this week. Trying to determine if Ms frizzle needs to be given back too :'(

Pullet. A cockerel would have a larger comb at this age.
Thanks! Even though the tail feathers are long? My friend bought my chickens sister and their faces look some what similar but her frizzles comb is smaller and no long tail feathers. Attached a picture showing Ms frizzles longer feathers.

Definitely girl. I have a pullet who was red faced at two months and didn't lay til five months. She had be worried as well but nope she is all girl. A cochin cockerel would have that much comb and wattles by two months old.
