cochin genetics

I would like to get a couple cochin chicks to raise. My goal is to have a few natural incubators and I have found bantam cochins to be great. I would like to get a few varieties. I have a blue splash rooster that I would breed with them in the future. Does it matter that I would be crossing varieties? Would I get chicks that belonged to there own variety or would they be of mixed color. I'm interested in the mottled and buff varieties.

If you want variety in your flock purchase blues and mottled Then you can have black, splash,blue, mottled and blue mottled. Mottled is recessive so you have to cross mottled to mottled to get mottled. You can also cross a mottled to splash then back cross the blue offspring to a mottled parent and get some blue mottled.
