Cochin mohawk

I got these splash bantam cochin and notice they have a mohawk , I have raised cochins in past and never had a mohawk, anyone else have cochin with mohawk

The feathers stay up that way? Interesting. I’ve never seen a crest like that. It is possible he was pecked there and the feathers stick up because of it?

I had a Cochin hen with a Mohawk. We used to wonder about it all the time. It was so cute, but we don't have any idea where it came from.
