Cochin People HELP!

I recently purchased and had shipped a Partridge roo, he is said to be 3 years old.
I would like to show him, I have never done shows before and cant wait!
After looking him over well, I have had some grooming to do to him, pop his spurs as they were HUGE and gave him a nice bath to get any critters off of him, I have Ivermec'ed him for any possable worms he may have had and also to kill any other bugs that were missed along with dusting him with DE.

I got him from a known breeder, (I think).

Anyway, my question for you all is, his skin. His breast all the way back and up to about his oil gland is red, like an irritation of some sort. His feet at the shaft of the feathers on his toes is red. Is this normal for the feet could it just be because of the feathering? IS this something I should be worried about and not get to show for the first time? What can I do to clean him up?

The previous owner used Seven dust on him, could it be a reation to that?

My first show is coming up in about 3 weeks, I really hope to show him! Here are some pictures.

Just wanted to say these were taken BEFORE his bath, and one has some dirty feathers right around his bottom area well from the poo LOL

This is him before his bath, I think he had a fungal issue with his comb as well and have been putting Anti Fungal cream on it and its cleaning up nicely.

Cute little roo. I have a black bantam cochin and he has the red around the foot feathers like your guy. He has no skin/feather problems so I'm assuming what your guy has on his feet is normal.
I've only seen that bump/gland on frizzles, and I believe it's like an ingrown feather. Hopefully someone here knows how to take care of that. My understanding is it will be a reoccuring problem.
The red, irritated skin looks like it's a problem. I don't know what sort of problem, but I know his skin should not look like that. It appears irritated. Again, someone else should have an idea of what it is and how to treat it.

The "bump/gland" is called the oil gland and as far as I know all birds have it, it produces a natural oil for there feathers.

I need to mention I had a frizzle hen who had a very red chest while she was broody and had no chest feathers, later learned she had some mites, not bad at all but thought that maybe it could of been from that.

I am just wondering if I should be worried about it.

I raise partridge cochins (standards) and they don't have any of those issues. Sorry I can't be of any real help.

Hi Terras, I have raised, bred, and shown many Cochin Bantams and Frizzle Cochin Bantams and I can tell you that there isnt anything wrong with him. His skin might be a little dry from the winter weather, kind alike a humans skin sometimes does. After his show, give him another bath a few days later and add some baby oil and see fi it helps with the redness. I noticed his skin kinda looked a little flaky to and that may very well be his problem. I dont see anything wrong with him as far as that goes. I would also treat him for lice and mites as mentioned to make sure he has no bugs that are doing it. And may I ask who you purchased him from? I know alot of great Cochin Breeders, especially on the East Coast.
