cochin rooster personality?

D'Angelo N Va. :

I have the partridge cochins LF's and I LOVE THEM...they are sooo sweet and gentle and the roosters are OMG, the most gorgeous roosters ever. I was thinking about instead of adding to my different breeds just adding more partridge cochins instead.

Yes, they are. Ours gets compliments whenever anyone comes over.

I mentioned this on another thread, but all the other roosters around us are just Gold Comet roos, skinny white guys, but DH and I compare our big dark cochin rooster to "Chef" on South Park.

He's DH's chicken and for Father's Day, chickenzoo is making me a decal that says "Chicken Man" with the Cochin rooster instead of the generic rooster.

That's funny you say that because I have a partridge cochin bantam whose a little terror. He's always trying to sneak up and jump into me. My alpha roo chases him around when he acts up (and sometime just for fun.) With that said I have 4 large cochins and the roo is an absolute sweetheart. They are the silverlaced variety,.

They are awesome! Not aggressive at all, lovely out in the yard. I've had a few banties that were little demons, but the LF are so laid back.

I have been raising Cochins and Comets together and they think I am a tree on which to roost. My emerging Cochin rooster is gentle with me and all other humans, but a total terror inside the pen outside his entourage of 5 devoted hens and will have to be re-homed, which is sad. He has caused a couple significant injuries in several of the other chickens mainly because of his size and sheer aggressiveness. He is double the size of his hatch mates. Luckily, there is a neighbor in need of a rooster and his leghorns are his size or larger. Hoping for the best.
