Cochin Toes

How many toes are cochins supposed to have? We have one with 4 and one with 5 toes.

I'm assuming this isnt right?

They should not have the extra toe (polydactyly). My guess would be there is a silkie or faverolle crossed in there somewhere.

Yes, sadly most hatcheries don't go by the rule of frizzle x smooth to prevent the frazzle/curlies. And they don't weed out chicks with incorrect #s of toes. The ones that shouldn't have extras sometimes have them and the ones that should have extra toes like silkies usually are missing some!

Really cute! He's lucky alot of curlies wind up with way too few feathers and are mostly bald except for some brittle feathers. Not sure what makes the difference. But THAT is neat.
