I have a week old black and partridge. The partridge is supposed to be female but is bigger, active, and not as feathered as the black who is smaller and quiet. Do some females feather slower than other females?

I have noticed my cockerels feather slower than my pullets

Well Tails, the blue, made an attempt at crowing this morning. It sounded more like someone was strangling him and I didn't expect an attempt this young. He is only a month to a month and a half old.
