I've been seeing this Orps vs Cochins thing a lot lately... I'm just wondering what started it and why? I tried to read through the thread to figure it out, but at this point there are just too many posts to go through. I'm confused as to why it's this big of a deal all of the sudden?

It surprises me that this has been allowed to go on based on some of the posts I've seen here, considering a similar experience I had a while back with Silkie lovers vs. Silkie haters that stayed pretty tame compared to this. I won't say anymore as I'm not sure where the line is with that, considering it got deleted.

For the record, in the world of Orpingtons versus Cochins, I'm firmly a Dorking lover. If I had to choose one of them, it would definitely be Cochins, though. Orps don't come in a silkie-feathered variety as far as I'm aware and that's the winning point for Cochins in my book.

I have decided that bantam cochins are better than orps, but orpingtons are better than normal sized cochins...

Where I stand.

Most of us are all pretty good friends on here already, and any others that have come in have been very positive and not rude, which is great. I think that's why we've been able to keep it so civil.
