Cochins vs. Silkies Who's the Better Broody?

Cochin X silky crosses= the best of both worlds with hybrid vigor. Any and all are generally excellent broodies with the occasional exception.

My BO tried hatching a rock and part of a corn cob at the same time (derrr)

My youngest broody mama was a PQ silkie who hadn't even started laying yet! She was about 4 months old! However, I think hte crosses tend to be better broodies and mamas than any pure-bred bird.

my plan is to have both silkies and cochins since they are about tied. i will try the cross thing! i had the cutest black silkies this year. one was named lil blackie and the other ones name was jacqueline. both died of a mysterious illness along with a blue silkie named oliver, and many white silkies, one named hope, and many buff silkies. Names of some other sikies that died: bill spencer, bridget, and steffy. P.S can anybody guess where the names are from?[except for lil blackie]
