This years hatch started laying really early for me at about 14 weeks

Most Cochins are slow to mature, they also only lay 2-3 eggs per week on average.
Therefore my theory is you need twice as many hens to make up for that.....
At least this is the story I am telling my hubby.
I have a 4 month old Pullet that still looks like she is a baby, her comb has not even begun to redden, I suspect at least 6 months for her to lay.
