Sampson is a Splash Cochin. The gold in his hackles is due to sun exposure. If he were kept out of the sun, his hackles would be blue splash. Here is another pic of him. I have had him and Delilah for about 5 years now. They are the sweetest things. I showed them when they were younger. They loved being bathed and blow dried.

I have this baby and she's only 3 weeks old and filled out so well for her age. The other cochin chicks are not nearly as pretty yet. Will she be a blue or black? I just know they look different as babes. I hope this pic can tell. She's def not all black but dark. She was a hatchery chick and they just sent an assortment. I have a buff, this one and 3 white. LOVE THEM!! My favorites.

Here's my little tough guy-- yet to be named. I hatched him this summer out of an egg that was thought to be a frizzle. Such a nice surprise-- he's a little banty who keeps up with the big boys!

sorry it took me so long to reply.

I got sick chickies, and been trying to figure out what is wrong with them. I lost James Brown today (his pic was earlier in this thread).

I am very bummed, and I am hoping I won't have to lose all my babies (by either sickness, or havig to cull them). Whatever it is, it seems to be contageous, but not affecting everyone - but that is off topic, so I won't discuss it here - sorry, just feeling sorry for myself
