I have a three week old Silver Laced Polish. I know that this is really early to be sexing chicks, but it would be helpful to know. I've had a few chicks die so I'm going to the store tomorrow, and if I know that this is a rooster, then I cold get another Polish while I'm there. Sadly, I'm not allowed to have roosters in my area . It has a fairly large crest, and sort of acts like a rooster. Like I said, I know this is early, but if there's any way to tell it would be helpful! Thanks!

Too young, sorry. The Polish breed you naturally have to wait longer than most birds anyway to sex. Usually, most breeds you can sex at six weeks, but you will have to wait until eight weeks or older.

As the posters above said, there is really no sure way to tell until they're older.
However, I have heard on a few threads that polish can be sexed as day olds by crest shape, with people reporting 70-90 percent accuracy. I wouldn't count on it as sure, but it might help you decide whether or not you want to get another just in case. If you have any photos of this chick as a baby, then compare it to these: http://www.swpoultry.com/CindySite/Sexing_Polish.html
You can also look up 'sexing day old polish' for more info. Again, I wouldn't count on it as totally reliable, but if the chicks crest was very oblong/ flat I, at least, might go ahead and get another- should they both end up female, just keep your favorite and sell the other.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do, and super cute chick!
