Hey lady bird my boy is doing fine still on the mean side but not that much loves the female but the girl keeps rejecting him. He sings about 5 to 6 notes a day just to get her attention. He bites hard but i dont move yell or do anything. Hes a pied cockatiel.

Lol remenber, birds have this thing like human does, about love (bonding) some just don't get along, not that they will fight but the bonding click isn't there. They can be friend, buddy's, or someone with them in a cage. There is nothing you can do, maybe in time they might bond, .I have a pair that's been together for years but they are not bonded they don't even preen each other which is a big sign of bonding. I have others that sit together on a perch and preen each other all the time, they are very closely bonded.
Your male may never be freindly, BUT, he will enjoy his life with a great person like you. Take your time with him, play with your female in front of him, he is going to watch and pay attention to what your doing.
FOOD, that's a biggie when you are eating, give both your teils a plate, ummm like warm eggs with egg shell mixed in, your female should try it out and in time the male is going try it, (his time, months weeks whatever but its his time not yours) whole wheat bread, brown rice, pasta veggie,.this is say to both of them we all are a flock and you are a flock too.

Just found this thread and wanted to say hi and introduce my birds. I have a silkie chicken as a house pet along with a tiel named Iggy, Charlie the sun conure, Benny the lovebird and 13 button quails. I have raised all my parrots from the age of 3 weeks old. I'm studying to be a vet tech. So school and caring for these animals (and byc) takes up all my time. My tiel is my tail, will not let me out of his site. He is a dark grey white face. Loves to walk right up to me and ask for neck rubs. Lol

Lol don't you love parrots, I have one named Pepper she is hooked to my shirt (teil) she wont leave my side.
I used have all my birds out (teils) umm about 15 or so they see me in the kitchen and run to me wagging their tails yelling, they knew I was cooking some food for them. Same here hand raised almost everyone of mine. I have a lovebird that thinks he a cockateil, he was raised with a baby teil, lovebird named Chripy and now his mate a teil lol Scruffy.
Keep going to school!!!! Vet tech, ummm why not a vet that takes care of parrots, we need more vets that does parrots

I agree with you about avian vets. It was hard to find one around hear. But finally did and he's really good too. Wow you definitely got your hands full too huh. It's funny because my lovebird was raised with the conure and will make any sound besides a lovebird sound. He will mimmick the conure sounds and will mimmick the tiel sounds and will even mimmick the wild birds outside sounds. Anything but his own. Lol

Welcome to the thread Robo I hope you find what you need and have fun with all us bird lovers. All your pets sound so cool I wish I had as many as you the cocktiel is soooooooo cute they are my favorite birds. Bet they love you being a vet so you can take care of them and maybe you can come by and answer a few questions about illnesses if we need it. I hope you enjoy yourself.

Hey everyone terrible news lemon drop my little yellow male parakeet is gone he died due to the extreme cold weather. His mate blue is still alive but seems sad and lonely. I miss him alot they werent handtame but he was the bravest and would like to be pet sometimes. I miss my little lemon.
