I have a Barnvelder Cock and in the morning when I let him out this morning he went side-saddle on me! (When he goes onto his side with his wing extended down him leg) I didn't know why. I take a large stick down with me because my Chooks are young and we have large Foxes in our area. Was he intimidated by the stick or me? I am at the top of the pecking order among my Chooks.

Always remember the roosters will try to take the dominant position from time to time. As they age aggression sometimes developes. He could have seen your stick and was intimidated. Try leaving it behind next time and see what happens. Normally that behavior is to intimidate another and show dominance.
