Cockerel keeps attacking me!

I agree with previous posters that say three is too many for the number of hens you have.. and that agressive roosters should not be tolerated. I am fortunate that I have not had to rehome or process a rooster due to behavior.. but would not hesitate. Being an unreformed hatchaholic.. there will be another roo to replace the mean one in no time.. I can't tolerate mean animals.. especially when I am feeding them!

I would get rid of the mean one immediately. I only keep calm birds as breeders. I feel that it is a characteristic that can be passed on like any other trait. I would not use him as a breeder!

Ya we are going to get rid of at least one(maybe two) since we are going to be getting more hens like I mentioned in my first post.I have tried some things that you all have suggested and yesterday it seemed to be working but this morning when I let them out he came at me again. He used to be my favorite rooster since hes bigger and prettier than all the other roosters. I'm going to try to keep up with the training him but if something happens or if he hurts someone or me then hes gone for good.

Also thanks everyone for the posts

Aggressive roosters do not always turn around. You may find yourself always having to watch your back around him.
Consider one of the other 2 that are not showing aggression.

An aggressive rooster can scar you up pretty good; especially when his spurs are grown out. It is not worth it to wait until he gets the opportunity to do serious damage.

I had a young Cuckoo Maran roo that was nice one day, then suddenly became very aggressive and attacked anyone who came close...I had to carry a broom with me when I collected eggs, just to keep him away from me. The turning point came when he came at my granddaughters and husband who kicked him from here to kingdom come and still he came back for more. At that point he met the long end of a shotgun. There are too many gentle roos out there to waste your time trying to tame a mean one. I have a mixed roo that I hatched out two years ago and he doesn't have a mean bone in his body.
