Can you ask a local vet to check a fecal sample for parasites?
I adopted a 4 month old silkie chicken. He was like skin and bones although I know he came from a good caring home. He also was sneezing, nasal discharge, and an intermittment wheezy whistle to his breathing. He also would flick his head a lot like birds do when their ears itch, he would stretch his neck out and do this weird thing with his mouth open wide like gulping down something large. He would also have this clear but slightly cloudy liquid spill out of his beak and then would eat it again(gross I know). I took him to the vet for an evaluation because of these concerning symptoms and the fact he was so skinny and he was new. Vet determined by symptoms confirmed with fecal that my little cockerel had gapeworm a nasty but treatable trematode. Earthworms, snails and slugs are carriers. I mention it because if antibiotics haven’t worked for you it could be something else that could be diagnosed with a fecal or a gram stain.
