Cockerel or Pullet? 4 weeks old.

Hi All,

Just wanted some of your more knowledgable opinions on what you think the sex is of my lovely 4 week old Barred Plymouth Rock chick.

Also, I’ve a couple of people mention that he/she looks a lot like a cuckoo maran, thoughts on this would be great too! Thanks.

Looking quite feminine as of now. Nice, dark barring.

It appeared to me that the beak and legs are pink, but in actuality, this may not be the case. Can you confirm true color?

Probably a pullet. She's nice and dark. And a marans, with those white feet.

Yes they are a very pale pink

Probably a pullet, and possibly a Maran or cross thereof.

Marans would tend to make sense, then. Barred Rocks shouldn't have pink legs.

Or, as Sourland mentioned, possibly a mix. Where did you get her?

Looks more barred than cuckoo to me, so I'm going to go with barred rock.

That’s a Maran. I have helped raise BR before and they don’t look like that.

Also I think it’s a pullet
