Cockerel or pullet? Breed thoughts as well?

My buddy got this from a “mixed” bin at southern states. Hes holding out hope but ive been telling him its a cockerel. Thoughts? What breed do u think it is? Thanks!

I think the gold one is a Buff pullet. The red one is a boy, and I don't think your black cockerel can be a Wyandotte with those feathered feet.
