Cockerel or Pullet??? California white leghorns

About 3 months. I got these guys when they where two weeks old. A few days after my ducklings and the ducklings are about full size now and I got them in April-May ish

Leghorn males are about the least shy creatures about announcing their gender, they get huge red combs very young. One rooster in your flock would stick out like a sore thumb at this point. Those are all pullets. Looks like you'll be getting a ton of big white eggs in a few months!

Can you do me a favor? I have been wanting to know if you can see ghost barring in California Whites. If you do happen to catch one can you look at their feathers and see if you can see faint white lines in them?

From my understanding California whites are produced using a California Grey Rooster (Barred) over White Leghorn hen. All off spring should carry 1 dominant white gene and 1 barring gene.

That sounds awesome!!!

Nothing to exciting I am more just curious if you can see it in all birds with single dominant white over barring gene or if it takes some other type of white for it to be visible.

Here is a picture of it:

Would I be able to produce this from a Barred rock over a White Leghorn (or WLH over BR), or does to BR have two barred copies and the WLH have two white copies there fore not being able to make the ghost baring???

I have a few WLH and those all look like hens to me! My rooster is Full grown and there is nooooo mistaking he is a rooster (he walks taller) his feather around his neck are very very long and full, and his tail feather are long and beautiful. Even though all my hens (minus one) have large red cones they look very different. I will try and post a picture when I get home!
