I've looked at several posts on here and pictures else where and I don't know what to think. I bought some chicks from my local store that are suppose to be pullets. Loving friends and family found out I bought some and brought me more. What started out as about a dozen chickens turned into nearly 50. I don't have that kind of room so I'm selling off some now that they are off heat lamp. Today a lady messaged me telling that one of the chickens I posted is a cockerel because it has pointy feathers. I was just wondering if some could help shed some light on this. Chick is about 8 weeks old.

Pointy hackle and saddle feathers are only relevant after about 12-20 weeks of age when the final juvenile molt is complete.

Additionally, certain color patterns may deceive the eye because the colored part is pointed but the feather itself is round. You can tell the difference by slipping an index card or even your hand under the questionable feathers.

At 8 weeks the best clue is the comb and wattles, though Wyandottes are known to be deceptive because the girls often color up earlier than other breeds and the rose combs of the boys aren't as obviously enlarged as the single-combed boys.

Can we see a standing side view of the bird in question and a closeup of it's comb and wattles?

Here is a close up and I'll try to get free standing pictures in the next day or so. Now that I'm questioning if it's a rooster I've been lookin at the rest of my flock. Some of them have larger waddles but have very little combs and some have about no waddle at all but yet they are all the same color.
