Cockerel or Pullet? *Updated pic pg 4**

My chicks were born in DECEMBER.
The one rooster has tail feathers that turn down and it is for SURE, not just a little pointy. His hackle feathers are way longer and different than all the rest.

He screams ROO. I would think this baby being a little older than mine should be screaming roo by now!

I vote - PULLET.

I'm with MAth, I have 5 6 weekers and there is one that's coomb has been red and large since week TWO. None of the other have developed anything close to that yet, and he's a slight bit larger with linger tail feathers. I vote pullet too. And I agree, maybe she's an early layer. It's not unheard of to have a chicken lay at 14-15 weeks and my pullets coombs turned red 2-4 weeks before lay.

See, the saddle feathers are tricky because much of that is coloring! The feathers are white with pointy stripes of gray.

I can't really tell if the feathers are actually pointy or just look pointy.

Darn chicken!

All those who said roo were right!

He still acts very feminine, but his saddle feathers are really starting to come in much more now. Definitely pointy.

That is Pat alright. HIIIIIEEEEE!

Seriously, it does look like there are some saddle feathers sprouting. How do the hackles look? It is hard to tell if they are pointy or not but it could be the coloring that is throwing me. From the comb and wattles I would think roo, but that isn't always the real indicator.
Good luck.

HA, right after I posted your last comment popped up. I guess that would be Patrick!

I had one that did that. Everyone thought he was a pullet. I didn't know he was a Cockerel until he was about 5 + months old. He hid it very well. No tail feathers, no crowing, no large comb and wattles and then one day poof a Rooster!

i vote pullet. nothing other than the comb shows roo at all. furthermore, i am not sure that both of the darker reds are roos, but can't see them well.
