I also think it MIGHT be genetic... just because of the way that joint behaves.

Although.... I have been wrong before...LOL

OH... and we weren't planning on breeding. If for some reason we do down the line, the other cockerel will be used.

You could just get some hatching eggs of the breeds you like, so there will be no possible muddle regarding the ancestry of the future chicks.
