Cockerel??

I have a lot of mature hens and a mature serama rooster. Hopefully if they are cockerels than they'll be bigger than my rooster but he'll be higher in the pecking order but too tiny to beat up on them.

Have you started the 'getting to know you phase'? They look like they are ready for life outdoors. Your Easter Egger might be a cockerel, six weeks is still pretty young. You should know for sure in the next couple weeks.

They are ready to go outside, their coop should be built and ready this weekend for them to go outside.

I'm curious why you think this bird is an Easter Egger? It sure looks like a hatchery Red pullet to me.

I am curious too, i got it at co-op in the 'ameraucana' bin.

Then I'm thinking it's a case of mistaken identity. Pretty sure that's a production Red pullet.

The good news is, if you're looking for an Ee cockerel, they're easy enough to come by over the next few months. Just put a wanted ad on CL and you'll probably have plenty of responses and your choice of colors.

I have also been wondering about this chick, i got it from the red sex link bin at co-op. I know if it was a boy it would be a white chicken but why are he/she's comb and wattles so large and red?
