Cockerel?

This little red and white is about 5 weeks. It is an Ameraucana but does not meet color standard, so according to rules, it makes it EE (Not sure I like the rules, but I get it). I'm pretty sure that it is a cockerel. Wanted to get other opinions on it too. He has a raised red comb and the splotchy coloring. Also red shoulder caps. Am I looking at the signs right? Out of 8 it's the only one to look as such. Thanks !!

yes, with those red wingbars, he's a cockerel. And he doesn't appear to have much in the way of muffs or a beard... which are also indicators he's an EE.

... Did you get them from a hatchery/feedstore that advertised them as Ameraucanas? More than half the time those "Ameraucanas" are Easter Eggers.

Handsome little cockerel. He doesn't seem to fit any true Ameraucana color variety off the top of my head, so he's most likely your normal, adorable Easter Egger.

This is true. Years ago, I was informed by multiple people that my favorite EE happened to be a "he" based on "his" red patches, so I rehomed "him." Guess what? HER new owners had some very interesting updates for us after several months. Boy, I really jumped the gun and missed out on a beauty.
