The SLW May be female. Definitely questionable, but I wouldn’t give up hope.

The BJGis definitely male. They grow a bit slower, so that much comb and wattle at this age is a good indicator of male. Saddle feathers should be making an appearance in a couple of weeks.

we have a 2.5 year old SLW. The kid named her Lacey at first....but it became apparent that she wasn’t THAT sweet or nice like the name might imply, so her name was changed to Sylvia. Not that the name Sylvia implies anything negative, and clearly both names were inspired by the breed name. She is, however, our most distinctly opinionated hen, and she has a fast beak when displeased, but is not a bully or mean...but no chicken gives her any trouble.

Lol too funny!!! She does try to make a mad dash out of the run every chance she gets. And she is my curious one. Peaks my rings. Finger nail polish and my phone. But she loves to be held and petted.
