Cockerels? Pullets? What gender do you think they are?

The wyandotte is a pullet for sure! And I'm thinking the black silkie is a pullet too.....

Thanks! The one thing I am wondering about is the Wyandotte is always fighting the Polish and Cochin. Is that normal behavior?

When she fights, she sometimes puffs up her hackle feathers and stands really tall, like a face-off with the roosters. She will also just peck them.

Maybe they are figuring out the pecking order?

That's probably what it is. I just have never seen any of my chickens fight like that. Then again, I have never had roosters either!

Silkie cockerels normally have streamers going through their head floofs and I didn’t see that on them.

So do you think the silkies are pullets? The one thing with Mochi (The white one) is that she often stands upright like a rooster. When are silkies supposed to develop streamers?

The first silkie looks like possibly a roo, but the white one looks almost certainly pullet.

Silkies: No idea.
Wyandotte: Girl.
Marans: Girl.
Polish: Boy.
Cochin: Boy.

X 2 Right now I lean pullet on the silkies, but they can be tricky. Pullets as well as cockerels will flare hackles and mock/play fight.
