You are correct we have ventured away from the coco pop topic a bit havent we!! Well Chicks are growing, I managed to buy the first cocopop roo that i had ever seen in person from a man fron the san diego wild animal park that had a small collection of seramas. I have him with a nice hen, and I am hoping to replicate some of the cocopop color, once i get what i am looking for am am going to do some heavy closed flock breeding to establish some of the colors and characteristics that i like!! I Have a total of Three true cocopop colored roos and one is laced similar to Joeys nice roo and i have put them with some nice hens. The chicks that i am getting are super typey little things they are pretty uniform in color. I am currently single pen mating my breeders to see who throws what with may roo. so far i like the laced pullet the best.. I also have one cocopop roo that has been bred back to his mom, she is sitting on 4 eggs. I wish the time would go faster, but i must enjoy and learn along the way.

so do you have to have a cocopop hen or does any hen of light color work to get cocopop chicks! if i rember right there is like three different color hens you can use to get cocopop. its all so confuseing to me sometimes . but thats part of the fun of it.

Well it is totally confusing to me!! My one hen had produced several coco pops for the man who owned her before, she is the color of an iced latte!! that brown, like coffee with milk in it. Actually all my hens are kinda that color some laced some not. I know Joey had a hen like a silver pencle color he sold to Ken that when bred to his Good looking cocopop roo they produced some nice looking cocopop babies!! It is going to be interesting to see how the chicks turn out from shorty and the one laced cocopop hen that I had," she is still missing in action "MIA" I had 5 chicks hatch out from them all yellowish with faint chocolate milk colored chipmunk stripes down the back. they are now 1.5 months old and are all keeping similar color. I will pluck them out of the chick brooder and post pics on here!!

really! well maybe i should get a cocopop roo because i have some girls that look just like that latte color!

. i'll see if i have any pics of them and ill post them here.

I found this on SCNA forum and I want to share this with you all. Since not all of us aware of how many variety of cocopop there are, this Euro cocopop varieties standard should help you focus on the variety you want to work with on your project. I am currently working on the Bronze tailed Silver neck double laced variety myself. For those of you that have access to SCNA forum, here is the link if you want to read more about it. http://www.scnaonline.org/scnaforums/index.php?showtopic=5032
