Coco pop seramas Thread !!!!!!!!!!!!

That's the point Gumbi, exactly. It will take years to get this color or any to breed ture and LASeramas does NOT have a cocopop that is breeding true thus, he should advertise as such. Also, Joey's birds are beautiful and there is nothing wrong with them and to criticize and say they are "large" is unkind and not true of the birds I have seen that himself has bred. I'd like to see these tiny birds that LA Seramas must have because if someone can criticize everyone and state that their birds are "large" then they themself must have small birds. I find it hard to believe that LA Seramas has any birds that are smaller than those "large" birds that he claims Grady Taylor has, shown here and coincidentally, one of his "large" cocopops....

And, would you like me to forward you the email from Jerry wherein he states ..."17 exhibhitors is great, took the CC 5 years to get to that number." Not my words....Jerry's!

not avoiding at all cara just havent taken the pics of the hen I will post them and joey good for you on the win they are nice birds I give you that but you know that I always say they are a little on the big size not what I like but glad you won its ok cause I have the same bloodline as you do but I chose not to breed them cause of their size leg color and so on and if this is what kate and amy score your bird to win at the First Show then let it be but their will be better birds send in your birds to the CC cause thats where I will be next year bro I dont care for the SoCal show too little and small amount of birds at the CC thats where true champ will be. Cocoapop line is a champion bloodline time and time again.

leg coloration and size is only a fraction of the total score... i'm sure that you know that they are judged and ranked in points... maybe legs is only 10 points, and joey's birds are perfect everywhere else... score a high 90 out of 100 points possible... also... you can have a gorgeous cocopop roo competing, and if a gorgeous white typey roo comes along, your colorful bird won't equal up to it at all...

just saying...

cocopop is just a random color that one chicken had... it's not a true color... seramas should be more about type than anything else...

hi kate... ♥

but remember that a lot of different malay chickens breed true... including shamo... i'm working on a silver laced red shamo... i know it's gonna take me years, but it's a realistic goal... that said, a cocopop pair to breed true is very possible... like i said before, you just have to isolate the genes... the only problem would be to work on type later on... but i'm glad some enthusiast here are grouping together to take on the impossible... but like i said, the genes are in the birds already... now it's time for selective breeding, and line breeding on a huge scale to get it done... then worry about type... LOL...

because these came from a lace cocoapop rooster and a laced pumpkin cocoapop color hen dont know for sure cause cocoapop throw out lace and no lace and so on but wait you know this cause your a breeder yourself so why you asking me this ????? you can see from the pics the red color chicks look like they will not be lace but only time will tell

just because the parents were one color morph, does NOT mean that it will be split for the colors... if one parent is split for lavender, and the other one is split for dun, only 20% will be split for lavender 20% dun 50% both and 10% or more will be split for nothing... again, there is more to genetics than you know... such as in line breeding, you never know which offspring will produce what you want... that's why it takes years to make a color breed true... YEARS!!!... it's not like, put it in the microwave face up and push [popcorn]... no sir... do you think it took a couple of weeks to make a chicken look like they do now from how wild jungle fowl look...?

no...

well put bro It can and will breed true gumbii just breeders that will say no only time will tell us but so far I like what im seeing now in my line ......

It will take years and generations to breed true, that's the point. AT this time, the color does not breed true. If you want to work on that, go for it and best of luck, honest, I mean it. However, for me, color is not as important. I want type and that is what I breed for. Sure, I have cocopop offspring, I have a number of them right now that look nice with show potential. But, I don't care that they are cocopop! You need to do what makes you happy and if that is breeding for color then that is what you should do. But what Gumbi is telling you is that when it comes to a serama table top show, no one gives a crap about the color and only care about the type.

but you told me that out of all of the chicks you hatch, and you had there... only one will be cocopop... i think i remember you saying, out of ten, one will be cocopop... but unless it's dun laced chocolate, melanized blah blah blah... it's not really a cocopop... it's just going to be a chocolate... so out of 10 of your chicks, only one will be chocolate...?????

hmmm...

so, no... your chicks are not split for cocopop or anything else but chocolate really... and since you can't get a 100% chocolate hatch, it's not going to happen anytime soon... chocolate is like self blue/lavender... so if you're only getting 10% chocolate, then maybe the hen is split for chocolate tail, or maybe 22% split for chocolate... so what hen are you using..? that dun partridge that was there...? because that one was not chocolate at all...

Wow this is crazy, Ken you are amazing!!!, You got out of seramas less that a month and a half ago then got back in a week laiter and now have TRUE cocopop breeding chicks. With adult breeders that seem to come from no where. I think most people are interested in the color yes but I think type comes first, and if someone ws interested in getting your chicks we have no idea of that the adults look like that produced these!! the could be Fat Long backed, with a horrible tail set. ( it is possible not saying they are) Oh and please go to the CC next year, THEY WILL BE WAITING FOR YOU!!! Like a bunch of inmates that just found out the new kid on the block is cocky and needs a good humbling!!

true I told you that when I was breeding with that hen that I got from joey read the post I think you are skipping alot of post bro I since sold that pair and move on in my breeding I will show updateds of these chicks if no one pick them up by this weekend next time around when I get back.. These from a different hen and yes with joey pair you can only get one double laced everytime this is a fact joey breed them and he will tell you that same thats is why I stop cause its not what I was looking for

is there a web site with labeled pictures of the serama colors ? I know my white boy is white but other than that I don't know what a pumpkin coco pop butter brickle oreo fudge cookie looks like. I think I'm hungry
