Clue are you guys getting the tail end of the storm that went through here two days ago?

Friends in Pennsylvania got 7 inches of snow. We got 3-4.

Needless to say I'm sick of snow and winter and winter clothes and ice, sigh... It was down in the single digits last night as lows. Temps are supposed to start rising again after today.

In the meantime....Orscheln's have Chick Days going on in Kirksville.

Get thee behind me chicken satan.

Accumulation here was supposed to be minimal. Temperature dropped below freezing shortly after I posted earlier. Road is now covered, 1.5" on the lawn and snow predicted through 6 o'clock or so. I'm guessing 6" or more if it keeps up at this rate.

Thanks for the coffee and good morning all. Finally got a good nights' rest. We have been dealing with a fur son that has been coughing his head off for two days.

It's like dealing with a sick kid. Every time he coughs over night I was up sitting with him. Not sure what he caught as he is vaccinated for kennel cough but he is better today with supportive treatment and antibiotics so who knows.

At least he didn't cough once all night and mommy and daddy got a good nights' sleep.
Oh no, poor guy. That's miserable. Hug him for me.

Sorry your fur son has been going through this. Hope he's better quickly.

It's pouring rain, and the wind is howling outside right now. Lots of strong gusts. Good day to stay indoors, and out of this weather.
That sounds like the weather here last night. If it keeps up, probably more trees will fall over.

I have chicks ordered from Murray McMurrays. And two incubators running....but i have signed up for 2 big swaps and have not much left to sell. One guy called me about bantam cochin roosters. I gave him a really cheap price of $15 . He felt $10 was what he should pay. I told him, that's how much the chicks sell for. This rooster is nearly a year old and you know how much feed is. People drive me nuts.

Thanks @CapricornFarm, I will do that. He's much better this morning. We had him outside with us and only heard one tiny cough while he was galloping around.

I just went out to give the roosters water since it went down in the single digits last night. Hard to think spring when there is two inches of snow left on the ground and the wind cuts through whatever you wear like a knife.

The good news is that our spring monsoons have yet to hit and frankly, I would prefer them to snow and cold.

Here comes the mud!
Some lady messaged me wanting rabbits. I quoted her a low price of $25 for a holland lop doe because i want them gone. The lady wanted me to drive 2 hours one way to bring it to her! I would be paying her to take it at that point. You know how much gas is these days. Why do people feel entitled to such crazy things?

`Nothing changes. My parents always planted a large garden. When everything was canned that we needed, there would always be extra tomatoes and green beans. At that point they gave the garden over to me. Anything I picked I could sell. It was my first job and I would make quite a bit off of my labors.

People would want a bushel of green beans and ask me if they would come cleaned and ready to cook. Seriously? I think I got 10 or 15 dollars a bushel. It's been a long time ago so I don't remember the exact amount but I always under priced the grocery stores.

I was always tempted to ask them if they wanted me to cook them and chew them up for them also but refrained.

People just don't change their behaviors.

And this is why , for the most part, I prefer animals.

Man's inhumanity to man has always been known to me, but perhaps never so much as right now. That being said, I will admit that I am a jaded old man.

@microchick any chance he has a congestive heart problem?
