Tough day, Sour?

No coffee but I can get you a cup of green tea...who am I kidding. DH just made a pot of real coffee. Help yourself!
Same old, same old. Just finished mowing the front yard - supposed to rain the next two days.

Got a lot done. Stopped washing the windows to go get the broody crate out of the coop. She is done being broody, at least for now. I took it down to the garden to hose off so. The hose end is rusting out, so not a good connection to the sprayer. I got plenty wet too.

Yeah but the difference is that the water is ankle deep and maybe the stream three feet across when not in flood and 10+ feet deep when in flood. Also the sand dry is much easier to walk in when it's drier than when it's soggy and has the consistency of quicksand.

Plus, it's easier to look for rocks when the water isn't over your head, ;) :gig
I stand on the bank, use a rake to pull rocks in and then pull them onto a shovel.

I could do that if this creek had banks in the true definition of the word.

Picture a deep ravine, sheer walls, only the ravine is 50 to maybe 75 feet wide. I can find places where I can scramble down the 'wall'. Once down the stream bed is sand with a meandering water way. Some places you can step across, some wade but there are gravel areas in the shallows and that is what I'm interested in. That plus the possibility of finding more geodes.

I'll see if I can't walk down to the bridge tomorrow and get a picture of it....if it stops raining long enough.

Geodes! Very cool.

Neighbor said that one of their kids found one. Wasn't good quality but where there are bad ones there are good ones.

There is a big geode area north of here in Keokuk Iowa. You go in with buckets and shovels and pay a flat rate I think. All you can haul out in X number of buckets are yours. I keep hoping to get up there some day.

Anybody read where a guy found a 1 + carat chocolate diamond at the Arkansas diamond crater park? He sold it for enough to buy himself a new car. Now that is cool!
