That goofy little marans is teasing me. She'll go a couple of hours then start screeching her head off.. I go in there to check and she'll start eating.. Like, you can't do that without me?
So, evening butt and leg soak time came around, and wasn't two minutes after I get her in the sink with warm water, she dumps a load.. and I mean like a dump truck load in the sink..she don't want to stay in that... so I pull her out, drain the sink, run clean warm water.. and sit her back in there (supporting her by the breast).. she's quiet, almost enjoying it, when I hear bubbles... she did it again! She really had such a satisfied look on her face too! Drain sink, run clean water, repeat process... finally a good soak with no bubbles or..... Blow dry bottom with low setting on blow dryer, and back in her box she goes. She stands straight up! She's also doing her best to stand up while feeding. I think she has motivation as her box is next to the week old chicks now where she can peek over the top of the box and see them, and they can see her. I'll be sticking her in the spare brooder soon enough if she keeps improving at this rate.. I'm so pleased and thankful that prayers and tears work. (There's no such thing as coincidence, and it was no coincidence I found her when I did.... knocking on death's door)

Winter is the best part of the year there!
Do you get ice and snow? I can't deal with either much. Was fun when I was up in Oregon and we had one of those storms that left the place white for a few days.. or when we had that ice storm in Seminole.. But when I was stationed at Hill AFB in Utah it was DEEP and cold and I didn't like it much.

Omg, I got the cutest chick today! He is a Splash Frizzled bantam polish. About 2 weeks old I think. The lady only had one hatch. I had him in a box but I didn't want him to get too hot in the back of my truck so I left the top of the box open. I come back out from TSC, and he is up strutting around almost next to the one half grown rooster I didn't sell today. Boy can he run! Tonight he is in with the 3 week old Seramas and the week old chicks I had in the bathroom. They seem to be getting along great.

Lol, girl, I was born in upstate New York . Lived there 17 years. Took my driver's license test in a storm and passed. Moved to Nova Scotia. Lived there until 1992. Also lived in TN for about 7 years. The little bit of ice and snow we get here is no big deal. No accumulation of snow last year, and only one storm the year before. I do like seasons, but i hate it when the chicken water freezes.
