Morning club all dogs out Pugsly is getting better potty outside.. figuring it out ... Iell ya no more puppies for a long time... Really needed my coffee this morning thanks George.. Our snow is not melting

Coffee was great this morning- then chores. The chickens and dogs are taken care of and are safe and warm. I had to go to a friend's house- she is in New Hampshire for a few weeks- and check on her house. There was ice frozen on her wood ramp that goes to her porch. My shoes did not fare well on the ice- I slipped and slid on the flat part before I got to the ramp.. I had to grab hold of the rail with both arms and lean heavily on my arms and try to keep my feet under me- of course the railing was frozen over with ice too. I had to move slowly inching my way up, hugging the railing and sliding my feet but finally made it to the house. Then, had to go back down the same way- I tell you, if I had fallen, I would be there still. It is out in the country with no one around. I did think about sitting down and sliding down the ramp- next time I go, I will bring some plastic with me and do just that - at least down will be a snap.

Ugh! If ice removal isn’t possible a bag of sand spread around works pretty good but makes a mess for later.

we use ashes from wood stove---and I have a big rug inside the back door that captures a lot of the crud

Kitty litter is a great way to deal with ice.

Use to keep a bag in my car when I lived in the snow areas.
