I foolishly entered TSC today, and looked at the chicks. I bought all the chicks in one brooder because they had pasty butt and I felt sorry for them. What's 19 chicks, more or less added to my population?
That is exactly why I use curb service for my feed and stuff. I can not afford to go in there- chickens calling my name.

Afternoon ya'll. Got up late this morning, about 9am. Fed the chickens, fish and dogs. Put more eggs in the jar for preservation- water glassing experiment this year. Then sat down to enjoy a cup of coffee in my chaise- just woke up. Coffee cold. It rained last night, so everything is wet- was gonna weed wack today. Guess I can do it tomorrow. Will go out into the world and look for vegetables to plant and get the raised beds ready. So far- maybe corn, zuccini, yellow squash, black eyed peas ( don't know if I want bush or let them grow up the corn stalks) and cherry tomatoes i like to eat those in the garden and throw some to the chickens. For flowers- marigolds, moss rose, azaleas, drift roses, four oclocks and maybe more hollyhocks- so far, only 4 have come back. For herbs, maybe some containers of basil, thyme, parsley, mint and oregano. The rosemary in the chicken yard came back just fine.
