Morning ya'll. Have my first cup of the day. Fed the animals, checked the garden and harvested some more squash. Think I will make a squash casserole instead of putting these up. My cushaw seedlings are coming up so need to put them out soon- maybe tomorrow. Still trying to decide the best place to let the vines grow wild. I think along the chicken yard fence- it's pig wire. The day looks to be a nice one with 40% chance of rain this afternoon, so will work in yard. My dwarf apple looks like it is dying- don't know why. Will put some horticulture oil on it and some fertilizer- maybe that will help. other than that, always can weed or weed wack.
If you have some NOT fresh chicken poop, a layer of that might help

Thanks, everyone, for your kind words, thoughts, and prayers. Mara will be missed. She was a quiet dog. Now I'm finding that the difference between a quiet house and a silent house is one Mara.
Amazing how the loss of a dog 'empties' the house. Because of our age we said no more after Dani died. 19 months of an empty house and Maggie Mae entered our lives. If we predecease her, our daughter will give her a home.

Root voles got mine the other year, just as it came into full bloom. :(
