Thanks for the coffee! I'm going back for a second cup.

I am getting closer on finishing the addition to the run. Chicken wire going over the roof, HC on a couple triangle-shaped spots where rooflines don't match. The last big bit is building a new door. I'm using the wood from the old door to make the new one, but it'll be larger. So I have to find a way -- tarps, probably -- to block off escape while I do the building part.
That sounds really exciting Sally! I hope you put up some pics!

It looks like this, only all the openings are covered with some combination of 2x3 fence, 1/2" HC, or chicken wire.

Yes, there are LOTS of poles that are warped or not squarely vertical/horizontal. This was green house/canopy framing that was sitting in pieces at a neighbor's house. But, it cost me nothing, so I can live with it. :) I think I have about $140 in the fencing/HC I bought. I'll have to buy some more zip ties too.

The run will go from about 90 to 150 sf with this. Earlier this spring, we enlarged the coop from 32 to 47 sf. I have 3 pullets, 3 hens, and a rooster. And now, room for a little bit of chicken math, should that strike me next spring.
