Good morning Coffee Club.
Coffee is on the stove.
Misty gray and damp here. Had a bit of rain overnight.

I'm 65 and in the last ten years particularly I've found there is stuff that I just can't cope with anymore. I can do most things still but when they take so much longer than they used to it seems greater sense to get someone else to do it.Well, it is pretty much over, can't hardly walk and if I can't keep the trails cleared....<shrug>....not timber here, lots of brushy and thorny stuff(autumn olive is the worst) so they get overgrown fast.
Whole left leg is pretty screwed up starting from car hitting my bike at 13yo(50 years ago), damaged knee and ankle(before ACL repair was popular)....and subsequent injuries over the years exacerbated by arthritis. Have to manage my 'mobility budget' as over-use sends me back to the couch and crutches. I tweaked it bad last week, but it's better now. Part of my 'old age'.
Yes! Many deer trails here that I opened up. Spent a couple years wandering around then marking before I got the chainsaw, and other tools, out. Had spent years hiking and biking and always wanted to make my own trails. Lucky that I got to do so...it was much fun while it lasted.
Morning, Tina. Thanks for the hot coffee Shad! Good morning everyone!
Got over 18 inches of snow over the past weekend and now it’s in the 40’s.....snow is melting and my roof covered run in a muddy mess!![]()

The roof protects it from the rain and snow that falls, but not from the wind and snow drifts!!!!! Oh what fun!!!!

MorningGood morning, Clubbers.
Thanks for the coffee, Shad.
The water that dripped off the roof onto the front porch and deck is now a very slippery sheet of ice. Fuji in particularly looked like Bambi out there. And Bella nearly slid right by the door when she came running back in after potty break! Skittles seems to be the only one smart enough to slow down.
Thanks for the idea! Cornell is about 45 minutes from me, but I will definitely look into getting some untreated wood chips for my run!Morning, Tina.
Doesn't Cornell offer free wood chips to residents? I know my area does. I have to go across the river or into the Broome county for mine but they are free and work great. I put three truck loads into the run last year. It's holding up great. I did install a gutter off the back of the run to divert the run off. It doesn't quite get over the knoll back there and into the moat but I will put an extension on it in the spring. If I find a puddle in the run, I just kick a pile of wood chips into it and build it back up until it's dry there again.

You can keep it mowed down, but pruning is futile. That is just plain scary and I say that because DH ran the tractor into one last spring because it was overgrowing our main trail...so you're saying it'll come back bigger and better than ever...no wonder Missouri considers it a big invasive species.
I think they are the same family.Ah, found it. Autumn olive. DH has not heard of it being a ptoblem in our area but I will watch for it. It was Russian olive in NM
<shudders> This is one thing I don't miss. The water that dripped off the roof onto the front porch and deck is now a very slippery sheet of ice. Fuji in particularly looked like Bambi out there.
