Morning all. Coffee sure smells great this morning. Pulling out the oatmeal with cranberrys and walnuts for breakfast. Weather is rainy but warm this morning - not a hard rain, just a determined drizzle. Went to feed the chickens and the poor things look like drenched rats. They have dry places to snuggle under, but do wander around in the rain.
I still have ginger snaps from christmas, so can snack on that today. Keep looking at all the christmas decorations and sighing. I usually pack them up on January 1, so not looking forward to that - every inch of my house is decorated. I keep all surfaces in the house covered in doilies that I usually take to the dry cleaners while the christmas stuff is up, but no, this year I chose to wash and iron all those things- silly me. So today I will be washing and ironing a load of doilies so I can put them back out on Friday, then washing and ironing a load of doilies Saturday to pack away til next holiday season.I forgot how much I hate ironing.

I’m usually anxious to pack up Christmas too! I have a small house so finally pared the decorating down to just the top of the piano and some lights and stockings hung on the stair railings.
I have some crochet snowflakes hanging on the tree which I store in a ziploc bag but have never washed them. The friend who made them for me died in November so they are one of those precious mementos that make you happy and sad at the same time when you drag them out then again when you pack em back up.

Yes it is wet! DH said he heard we could expect up to 2 inches of rain from this storm. All those wood chips I hauled up to the chicken run are for the most part invisible.

We do not normaly get allot the storms that march in.
this has dumped enough to be a drencher now

Tree is down and room is cleaned. Princess will start 'killing' the rest of Christmas gradually.

Our outside goes more when as we can. Coffee is gone sitting here a pup sleeping in my lap.. Doesn't get much better

I remember when I practiced ironing on my father's perma press shirts. I did a pretty good job too!

I learned to Iron on Dad's postal uniform never minded doing it even now have very few to iron though
