I learned to iron my Dad's hanky's and the dish towels. We normally did not iron the dish towels, but Mom thought it would be good practice to start with. Eventually graduated to clothes. After we took them down from the line, we would sprinkle them with water and put them in the fridge until we could iron them. Seemed like a waste of time to hang them outside to dry. It was my least favorite chore. I would rather take a beating or weed the gardens. Thanks George third for me but hey why not right ..
