Well BF had just said only two eegs he found under the silkie. I put 8 so off to see if the hid them or just said non starters ate them ?

I went out to check the chickens and found a baby Calico bantam cochin that hatched. It was shivering and peeping like crazy. The 2 broodies just sat there on the nest. Sigh. So I picked it up, cuddled it and brought it inside. Gave it a drink of save a chick and popped it in the bator. Time to set up a brooder.

That is a good save!

Maybe you will be able to move it out to one of the broody Hens after the other chicks hatch out.

@GrandmaDeKorte, I want to sit in that blue rocker with a cup of coffee, and listen to little chicks peep. What a cozy place!

I do like my rocker, I put some baby gates up so Tony & Ziva will not bother the chicks

My rocker is in my room to remind me of the tank tops I started not finished.. My swing is in the backyard but big girls swing .. Ice Tea and another pot of coffee, Sun tea that is black

Morning ya’ll. Second cup of coffee, sitting on the patio glide watching the hens scratch and the dogs roll around on the grass. Expecting family in later today- all chores done, snacks and drinks ready- nothing to do but relax and enjoy the show.
