been think'n on an addiction, not sure which way to go prefab or build from scratch, got some post and wire left over, keep leaning on towards prefab then add as needed or wanted, any thoughts?
Don't waste your $ on pre-fab...that is how I got into the mess I am in...and spent way more on rinky dink 2'x2' than I have on the 10'x20' I'm working on right now! The pre-fabs also do not have any ventilation! Everyone I have looked at is like that!

Prefabs are a waste of time and money. Building from scratch can be very expensive, with the cost of lumber now.

If you have or can find something you can remodel into a coop, that will probably be the most cost effective. Check Craig's List, want ads, garage sales. Sometimes neighbors have stuff they want to get rid of that will work too. That's how I got the frame to my run and also to the extension I'm adding.

I got a 90 sf run for the cost of the hardware cloth, fencing, chicken wire, 2 tarps, and zip ties. We did use some 2x4s, but had those on hand, because we always have building projects.

Good afternoon! Sorry I missed coffee earlier. I got a call from my aunt Paula who is concerned about her daughter and family who are in Germany. She heard on the news about flooding going on there and got no replies to her texts. They left Berlin and are driving somewhere and of course she didn’t know which direction they were headed. They did finally respond and they’re all fine, I just thought it was funny that Germany had been mentioned here when I haven’t heard a thing about it in ages and in one day it’s multiple source Germany ! And now Angela Merkel is on tv so I have to listen now.

Hey all been if limbo friends to better half showed up they had truck trouble My Postal bud gave us a name passed it on .. Good new all was fixed and not robbery either ..
Meeting them in like 1 hour ..

Okay never go prefab if you can use a hammer and hardware cloth just my not so humble opinion

Good evening one and all!

Had to go to Jacksonville for an appointment today which ruins most of the day

Have a great evening!

@silverhair67

I've been picking up throw aways at Tractor Supply.

They send there pallets back unless they are broken.

If they are broken they are free to anyone.

I ended up with two (2) 12 foot 2 x 4's.

Check with the stores in your area and maybe you will be able to get some supplies at no cost.

Good Luck!

We lived in Spangdahlem, and loved visiting Trier 💖. We would go back to Germany after we left, but I can't remember the name, I'll ask later. Sorry, I tried to post this last night but my tablet was being difficult.
I have been to Trier several times already, a wonderful and interesting city! Have you been on the other side as well where they keep the goats and deer in their deer-park?

Doctor appt. next week and the medical center wants me to put up a "Patient porthole" whatever the devil that is. My son and brother could help me out (they are techies) but, no response from them. I know the medical center has many Medicaid patients, I would venture to guess they don't have computers .

Have the medical center help you set it up.

Try to find an old childrens playhouse or similar, they are easily converted and much better suited than any of these prefabricated, horribly overpriced and unsecure pseudo coops they offer.
