Osteo-barometers....gotta love em. NOT!

It's still raining here. One of the Fayoumi hens tried to stage an escape and almost got herself closed in the door. I had to listen to her indignant Fayoumis screeches for 5 minutes.

Which proves that a bad day in a muddy wet run is better than a day cooped up with your 3 flock sisters and a randy Fayoumi rooster.

I remember my grandma saying, "My hands hurt. I think we might get some rain." I was about 7 at the time and thought how cool was that!! She could tell the weather by how her hands felt. I completely missed the "hurt" part. I get it now, Grandma.

That is also the only time I can remember her voicing anything close to a complaint.

RIP, lovely lady.

I developed the built in barometers when I was in my mid 20s, after I had Rheumatic Fever that hit my joints hard. First time it happened It was winter and I was at work when I suddenly had severe pain in my left ankle. It was so bad I almost went down to the ER for an xray but got busy and hobbled around for the rest of the night.

Next morning woke up to 8 inches of snow on the ground. Didn't take me long to add 1+1 and get 2.

I can still tell when we are going to have extreme weather. Mostly in winter though.
