Got a picture of our dumped bunny. I'm going to set the live trap for him her it tonight.

Now what moron would dump a pet rabbit? Our barn sets quite a way from the road. So A) Bunnykins found it's way from the road to the barn or B) somebody opened our gate, tiptoed to the barn, dumped Bunnykins and ran like h-e-double toothpicks back to the road and sped off.

Jerks.

Morning everyone.

Second cup down ready to face the day.

Saw Bunnykins early this morning on our back deck when I let the dogs out. It hightailed it under our other deck on the east side of the house so the dogs didn't see it. When they came back up to the house they were sniffing the deck but came in when I called them.

I have no idea how the little guy.gal made her way from the barn to the house/deck as that area is fenced in back yard for the cattle dogs. Guess I'll have to move my trap.

I read that here in Missouri if the rabbit population is up then the coyote population and predator bird population is down. But that usually the coyote population will adjust itself to deal with the surplus rabbit supply. If the rabbit population is down, then the coyote population will be down also until the rabbit population rebounds again.

Yeah, I know that one had me scratching my head too. Here the wild rabbit population seems to be down this year and I haven't been hearing a lot of yote calls either. Usually in Feb they are very vocal during their mating season. This year nope, didn't hear any surplus howling that would indicate they are breeding.
