Yup we are only a few blocks from wooded areas and parks and we have Racoons, Possum, rats, mice and lots of feral cats. There is LOTS of wildlife around Brooklyn especially in East Flatbush off Parkway there is plenty of National park areas.
I'm betting you can add fox and coyote to that list.
 
Well I haven't seen any but you're probably correct. I also just remembered that a few months ago we saw a family of what appeared to be hawks way up in the trees. We always have to remember even though I live in the city there's plenty of country all around

Frequently coyotes are seen in Central Park, and perhaps even a bear over the past couple of years.

Yes Brooklyn is very large and has a very diverse eco system, this adds to the very diverse cultural makeup. ( great food choices as a result!!) Check out Google maps and look at "Gateway National Park Preserves"
and BTW 3rd cup starting now (its decaf......)
