Almost had a baby goat die last night! Had to do the Heimlich maneuver. It swallowed a whole acorn i think. Had foam coming out of its mouth and nose. Even the maneuver didn't help, so finally i shoved my finger down his throat as far as possible.

Good fast thinking, Cap. Always taught to clear the mouth and airway as much as possible. They have kind of dropped that in CPR certification but I still clear the airway. Proves that it should be done. Your education paid off. Plus, you kept your cool.

How is the little goatette doing?

He is doing fine, seems to be sticking a little closer to his Mama.
When you're a nurse you get used to emergencies. I have called 911 a number of times while working at the doctor's office. And i stood next to a surgeon while he did surgery where i could see into the body cavity, the inside of the pelvis. Lots of blood leaking out.
