Coffee's ready...

Morning People,
Coffees hot and I'm running late. I had a empty house last night. I slept late. Fresh granola for breakfast. Get it while it's here.

Weather: 80's with a "chance" of rain.

oesdog: We mix the granola with yogurt, milk, fruit or eat it by the hands full. The following link is the recipe I am using at the moment. I made a few modifications to it. I added coconut, flex seeds. I think the next batch I might use honey instead of the maple syrup.

What do you do with your Rhubarb? I was thinking of making BBQ out of mine. I usually boil it down to make a sauce for ice cream/cakes etc.

Today's adventures: Raiding the orchard for peaches and blueberries. Working in the shop.

Supper: BBQ chicken legs, corn for the garden and made some spinach.

Enjoy the day

Granola - Yeah kind of get it now - It is like Alpen or Mussili we have here? Very like that - we just don;t call it Granola here. It looks near enough though looking at it is isn;t quite the same. So mistery solved I guess. I think home made one is far nicer than shop bought. Our Rhubarb is like wild at the moment - I have been making Rhubarb crumble and Rhubarb tart. I do make sauce for ice-cream too ! It is good for BBQ I use it to bast as well. Nice on things like pork or duck!

Thanks for the offer to send me some Granola Rancher Hicks but I think we solved it ok! -

Our lad is fine - he isn;t ill or anything like it he is disabled and basically gets up every hour from about 2.30am. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh !!!! It is very draining and he has been off from his usual adult centre activities for the last two weeks! Thankfully he goes back tomorrow morning - Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But then I take Dotty Dd to hospital later tomorrow to see what they can do to get this darn baby out of her! Maybe a granny this week FINALLY!!!!!!

Morning everyone. My son let me sleep in a bit today. That was nice. We had a busy day yesterday, spent half of it in the sun, so he was pretty tired by the end of the day. It was so hot here my friends had a bag with birthday candles in it that melted all over the other stuff in the bag! Cake time was delayed. Today I need to get some chores done and get myself ready to start back to work tomorrow. I can hardly believe summer is over.
I guess I may have to try "breaking" my crazy broody leghorn. I'm worried about her staying in the nest box all day. I designed the coop so that even the boxes stay farily cool, but even with that it was 95 most of the day yesterday and usually she dust bathes all day to keep cool. I will move the rabbit indoors and put her in the rabbit cage. How long does it usually take? I feel so bad, but I really wasn't planning on any chicks right now. The EE's are taking up the new brooder/ coop addition I built, and now that I'm going back to work I don't want to have to build another one! The poor girl is so determined - all fluffed up and so upset when I take the eggs from her. Yesterday was the first day she didn't lay.

Oesdog - best of luck with your daughter - how exciting! And I never thought of using ruhbarb for bar-b-que - I bet that is delicious.

I need to work on my garnden and get it ready to plant, too. But I think I'll take some time out to go to the beach today, since it is my last day before going back to work. Have a good one, chickeners.

coffee is a bit late today. lol i didnt want to get out of bed! haha.

picked up a new tv at the second hand store yesterday ! i got a heck of a deal! 37 inch flat screen (not a plasma, the screen is just flat!) toshiba 2006 model for 25 bucks isnt that awesme?? considering that my newest tv i bought in 1997 lol and the other one we have is at least 30 years old, you cant even hook a VCR or a DVD player to it!

so we are enjoying our new tv

I have been rained out today . . . . This morning, we got all the trees, bushes, flowers, etc fertilized. The only thing I didn't fertilize is my garden. We were going to take care of that this afternoon - - - but it rained. We got a border around the outside of the garden sprayed with weeder. We also sprayed neem oil for insect control.

Tomorrow, we will plant seeds in the garden . . . . I am on the prowl for some plants. Walmart didn't have any today. So, I will look at the nursery tomorrow. I need a couple of Azaleas and a couple of other things. . .

Me too Math, I was trying to fix the fence. We have two partitions and one the neighbors dog can get into and I suspect he's scared the chickens as they no long hang out in that part of the yard. I've got to fix the fence (chain link) and secure the opening. I use to like dogs but have come to dislike them since getting chickens.

This particular dog has come after me and my Sil. He has to go.

oesdog , they say sonagrams say it's a girl but what if his wally wally is to small to see? LOL Wouldn't it be a hoot if she's a he? I guess we'd have to hope pink is "his" color.

during a recent visit with my GS he had pooped and during changing a friends little girl was observing and exclaimed, "he got poop on his girl parts".

Rancher - I think my Dd would be horrified if it had "boy bits" - !!!!!!!!! You never know though they could be wrong. I have blue waiting as a back up incase I have to rescue the child from her if it has a willy and ginger hair - she has a bucket all ready for it! - oh yeah she is ginger and her partner also has ginger in his hair - ! Poor baby !

Better go Ds is about to go for the day - Yes!

I had time for a quick few gulps of coffee before my first day back.
Oesdog - keep us posted - I love red hair!! My son's hair was reddish blond when he was a baby - everyone loved it.
Math Ace - you can come on over an work on my garden when you are done. I'm waiting on my seeds to get here, and I still haven't gotten the old stuff out and the dirt ready.

My Leghorn is in her broody-breaking cage. She isn't happy. I'll let her out when I get back from work and see if she goes back to sitting in the nest box. No babies for you, missy! This gives me an idea for my work with my teen mothers...... Just kidding.

Time to go get myself oriented to a brand new school. It's like starting all over again, but at least I know my job duties now and am not totally clueless. Still pretty new to it, so I'm nervous.

Have a great day.
