NO I didn't - I did however get a broken oven in my cooker! It is a lovely big double oven Range type from STOVES. However they have informed me they no longer supply the parts so my oven though only 4 yrs old is dead. ( They tell me its a 2003 model and they only keep parts for 5yrs??????) We moved in here 4yrs ago and it was put in the house then for us so it is infact only 4yrs old!!!!! So BIG WARNING never buy from STOVES or the BELLING Group as they are a bunch of xxxxxxxxxxxxx!!!!!!!!!
Always ask HOW LONG DO YOU KEEP AND SUPPLY parts for fixing faulty ovens etc??????? If they say 5yrs walk away !!!!!! My old bog standard oven I had in my last house was over 10yrs old and still going strong when we moved - I didn;t bring it with me because we got this lovely one with the new house when it was biult!!!!!!!
Perhaps they think they will force folk to buy new from them - I will never buy a STOVES oven and will always tell others to go to another company!!!!!
EVERYONE DO NOT BUY FROM STOVES!!!!!!!!

That is absolutely ridiculous, Oesdog! 4 years!? Luckily I don't think we have that brand over here.

I've been really busy lately - can't wait for the weekend, and it's only Wednesday. I think I may have finally broken my smart phone. They are only made to be dropped onto tile floors (and into the bathtub) so many times before they are tired of the abuse and refuse to function any longer. I have plugged it in to the charger and am hoping some "juice" and a rest will fix it.

The weather here has been just gorgeous, and everyday I wish I could be outside instead of in my office. My chicken swap is coming along nicely - we will have plenty of people selling chicks and chickens this time - just trying to make sure we have enough customers!

I am being tempted with some light and dark brahma chicks.......

I have decided against the hippie van coop, as I am afraid that it will get too hot in the summer, even with the windows replaced with hardware cloth. Instead I am going to build an aviary - it will be a long term project to get it to what I am picturing, but worth it. I am going to put in a little pond for some call-ducks, even!

Or mandrins.......

Good morning chicken wranglers
I spent a lot of time going over and over trying to post pics.I found an egg as big as my hand on the bank of the pond, I also found an egg from the ducks on the bank not far from the place where the ducks sit and sun themselves. I wanted to share the pics with you guys but as usual I cannot get the pics to post. Tonight we are having keesh so you'll never get to see the giant egg. It was just like coming to the end of a rainbow! and I wanted to have you all get as excited as I was.

I would have liked to see that giant egg! So you think it was a duck egg, not a goose? Didn't you have a goose that was gone for a short while and then re-appeared?

I'm trying to find a smaller-size, quite, friendly duck for my future aviary. Any suggestions?

Good morniong chicken wranglers
Yes I think it is a goose egg. I got another one of each yesterday and I'm afraid to eat them,But I'll try.
Have a great weekend all God Bless!

Where did everybody go? I'm imagining everyone's coming out from under all the snow and ice. Ha ha! We did, until this morning. I woke up to a nice coating of snow on the ground. The kids have a 2 hour delay. However, I have to have my youngest daughter to outpatient surgery at 0830 - she is having her tonsils and adenoids removed this morning. Poor girl, she is so scared.

But, before the day starts I am sitting here drinking my Maxwell House with milk

and enjoying the quiet.

My two English Angoras are running around under my feet. If I had any CLUE how friendly, tame, and funny these creatures were, I would've had some earlier!

I love these girls! Even my DH said last night that they are definitely NOT "outdoor" animals. So, I will be on the prowl for a huge 2 story animal kingdom/cage for these girls - good thing we live about 5 minutes away from a small animal auction, because they usually have some cages up for auction. They are definitely my princesses!

In my living room we have the 2 English Angoras, and my brooder with the chicks. I am supposed to get my Turkeys and Naked Necks in this week. BUT, soon no more animals in here - we are getting measured for new carpet this Thursday!

We tore up the rug a few months ago with the bright idea that we were going to refinish the hardwood floors. The carpet was literally from the 70s, so it had to go. But we decided we like carpet in here much better.

karl, I hope you enjoyed your goose egg!!!

oesdog, I hope you got a new oven - one that will work for a very, very long time!

chics, my girls drop their phones all the time, I'm surprised that they've lasted as long as they have. Hopefully yours is working again!

Have a good day, everyone!

We actually decided that were going to wait. - What weve done is bought a really cheap biult in single oven and oven unit- we are putting that into the Utility as DH loves to bake and so we do need a spare oven in there.

Then we are keeping the big oven going as long as we can. Obviously I can;t use one of the ovens in it because its broken but the other on the other side of the double oven is still going and so is the grill and all the burners on the hob. So we are just going to run her into the ground basically and save our money for a really good oven. A Stanley or Arga - we would love a massive three oven type thing. The only thing is I actually like seeing the food cooking through the glass and of course argas you kind of have to guess whats going on inside it or open the thing and spoil what your trying to cook?? We will see and have a good look round. I want an oven that will last a lifetime not this piece of junk!!

Still it did look lovely. Think its in the background of the pic I posted the day Jess was born. She was born in the morning and it was about 7pm when we took the photo.
Anyhow this oven is a really bad bad bad oven!!!!! Ok not a very good view of the oven but you can see what I mean and why I didn;t want to throw it!! Just ignor the crazy granny infront of it!!!!!

Good morning! I can't imagine the weather still being so cold and snowy, chicky laura. We have had post-card perfect weather this weekend, and it will stay all week. High 50s at night, mid 70s during the day. Not even scrapping chicken poop feels like a chore right now!

Anyway, I'm taking a little break from a training presentation I'm working on putting together. I haven't had to do this in a long time, and I'm a bit rusty.

That does look like a nice kitchen set-up Oesdog. I had a broken oven for about three months - what a pain in the *$& that was!
I measured my fence this weekend and I am hoping to start on that this weekend, then I will be able to start on the aviary. I should take some 'before' pictures before we get started. It's going to be a lot of work, but worth it in the end, I hope.

Well, have a great day chicken wranglers.
